Disaster Relief Fund
Paying LOVE forward

100% OF DONATIONS GO TO THE PEOPLE WHO NEED THEM.

NO ADMINISTRATION FEES. NO HIDDEN COSTS/CHARGES.

We plan to change the way that people and families are treated during the immediate days following natural disasters and the financial help they receive which we believe is insufficient. This Mission will have a significant impact on survivors lives and allow them to have some pride, dignity and choice when they have lost everything they own.

This Mission was inspired by the Black Summer 2019/2020 bushfire season and the ensuing mess that the government, some of our largest charities and organisations made in simply choosing to look after themselves better than those they should have been caring for.

ALL THE MONEY YOU DONATE GOES TO THE PEOPLE WHO NEED IT, WITH A MESSAGE OF LOVE FROM THE AUSTRALIAN PUBLIC

What are we going to do & WHY?

  • If you loose everything in a disaster the Government gives you a 1 off payment of $1,000 per adult and $00 per child. If your lucky enough they then can pay you an allowance for 13 weeks. We simply believe this is not enough.

  • Many charities and other organisations are very slow to deliver donated funds to the people that need it. When looking at the % of donations that make it to the affected people there are definitely a number of charities that should be giving a much higher % of funds donated to the survivors. Even the Government in the Commonwealth National Bushfire Recovery Fund had only given67% of funds to where it needs to go.

  • This is simply not good enough and why we choose 100% of donated funds to go to people affected by disasters. NO ADMIN FEES. NO KEEPING A % FOR OTHER PROJECTS

  • The Love Is The Answer Disaster Relief Fund will provide within 48-72 hours of you being registered between $15,000 and $25,000 into your bank account. â€‹

How will we deliver this service?

  • We are still determining this registration process along with many other things as the registration process we can see on Government websites is a joke. If you have lost everything then the process looks beyond painful. Ours will be much easier. We will ensure it is secure and unable to be scammed. Only survivors will be paid.

  • Why will it be easier? Because we are talking to people who have been through disasters and asking them about their experience and what could have made it better.

  • We do not wish to or need to make money from this project like other parties. We are not ruled by self interest and a desire to report how much money was donated to us. We are ruled by what is needed to help.

  • So how do we pay for all this you ask? Very good questions. We will raise funds via klek services to pay for any admin costs and associated costs. People will also have the opportunity at the time of donating to donate the cost associated with that transaction (i.e.$2) if they wish to.

  • We believe this amount of money delivered quickly allows people to regain some pride, dignity and control of their situation. In most of these cases people have lost everything. "Everything" means all you have are the clothes you are wearing and what donations charities are bringing to the shelter.

Innovation for you and them

  • We will be developing a dedicated highly secure website for the Disaster Relief Fund. This website may also cover the registration process as there is currently no single register. Each time you need to go to the government, a charity or an organisation you need to tell your story and situation over, and over, and over again. It seems that those with all the money to actually create this registration system i.e. the organisations that charge admin fees and do not pass all of the money donated outside of admin fees to survivors have any urge to create a national system.

  • Social and Peer to Peer lending - Aussies helping Aussies directly. The website that we create will also contain a social component to it and peer to peer lending. We know that Aussies are awesome at helping people when they are in trouble. So we will set up a social part to the site (again as secure as possible) where registered survivors can create an account and ask for things they may need. Then an Aussie on the other side of the country can choose to donate directly to that person or a bunch of people can contribute to helping that person.
